DHC Deep Cleansing Oil versus Mac Cleanse Off Oils

I think the main issue I had with these two is that they cater to two different skin types. I have oily/combination skin as I have probably stated before. I have been happily using Mac Cleanse Off Oil in my routine for awhile now and I love it. But when I went to my parents for winter break I didn't have any so my mom gave me the rest of her DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. My mom has dry skin and has always loved DHC products so she wanted me to try it.

Mac Cleanse Off Oil was so strange to me at first. My face has always been quite oily so to rub more oil on it to clean it was such an alien concept. Once I did it, I swore I would never use another makeup remover again. No eyelashes fall out when you use it, all the makeup comes off easily no matter how piled on it may be. And after, your face feels clean not slimy or filmy like some removers. It didn't leave my face feeling oily, it just felt clean, not soap squeaky clean but clean nonetheless.

The thing about DHC is that it is geared told older, dry skin. My skin isn't older and it isn't dry. The oil removes makeup really well. Much like Mac's does. But it doesn't leave your face feeling clean. It leaves an oil on your skin. Which might be nice if your skin is dry and flaky and needs oil. But adding oil to oil is not pleasant and causes break outs. It also has an unpleasant smell to it. This is probably a personal opinion but I don't like the smell of olive oil, especially on my skin, and that's exactly what it smells like. They definitely use olive oil in their formula. Olive oil is hardcore thick oil. Unless your skin is very dry it's hard for normal to oily skin to absorb that kind of oil as opposed to just creating an oil slick.

If you're in your teens and 20s or have normal to oily skin I would definitely say use Mac but if you're 30s and older or have dry skin I would say go with DHC. If you have any other questions comment below.
